Tools Of The Road

I was having tires put on Wilma's car Saturday morning and had time to kill, so I packed along the bike and rode to a coffee house. As luck would have it, our Shunga Trail was close and I could get a 14 mile round trip in. Topeka doesn't have much for cyclists, but it does have the Shunga Trail, with it's nice surface for riding/walking/running and follows Shunganunga Creek. I brought along my sketch gear and figured I'd find something to draw. Once I had my coffee and was ready to draw, I thought of my tools. Love tools. I actually forgot it had some of the features. Much better gear than when I was a kid.

Pretty cool. Nice when you can make something creative out of just whatever is at hand.

Excellent John----somehow you manage to have wit in your sketches making me smile to see them. I always like to check out the tool section of whatever place I'm in--the multi bladed knife seems like such a difficult subject to tackle but you did it beautifully ! I'm getting the urge to do some journal pages again.....maybe my collection of
bottle openers would be a start...inspired by such people as you in this fantastic group---Winna

My husband laughs at me because I would rather spend time at Home Depot than shoe shopping. I really want one of those multi-tool thingys now. I enjoy your journals and wonderful drawings.

Wow that is quite a multipurpose tool! and I recognize the tire pressure gage but not the other "tire iron" Time well spent.

I'd recognize that biking tool anywhere! Never ride anywhere without mine! Great job, love your journal.

LOL...I guess tools would be a favorite of artists!! I, too, love Home Depot and playing around with tools. I feel like I'm supposed to prefer flowers and lace, as a female, but I do prefer bike tools (I mountain bike), and other such things!! Love your page!
