Opener Changeout
Well, I'm done! Both garage door openers are now changed out. I've changed out the two smoke detectors, too. That just leaves the phones and the answering machine to replace, and we'll be ready for the next lightning storm. This job took on a life of its own. I have that luck. Even now it's not 100% done. This morning Wilma's opener button #1 opened her side, but button #2 opened BOTH doors. I spent time tonight reprogramming. Thought I had it. Hers works fine. However, my button #1 opens both and button #2 opens mine. Go figure. I'll try again tomorrow after I sleep on it.

John, I really enjoy reading your entries. So many times what starts out as a simple "replacement" of broken pieces ends up VERY challenging. You seem to handle the challenges with aplomb. And your sketches are charming, too.
Priceless. Although I know you spent lots of time, some money, and experienced quite a deal of frustration -- you certainly have created a super memory treasure.
An illustrated flow chart...LOVE this! :)
What a great entry- and oh how I sympathise- these jobs take so much time and effort (but still much cheaper than getting someone else to do it ;))
YA JUST GOTTA LAUGH!! Great spread and I am sure The Answer will come to you while sleeping. AND if it happens again you will have all the answere in your journal ;-)
Hilarious!!!
Loved seeing your journal entry about this...I would never have thought to journal this event, and I am really glad that you did. Shows that it is possible to make art out of even the most frustrating and "non pretty" task.
I love the layout on this one. Somehow following it around the center gives one more of a sense of the frustration involved in the repair. My son had a similar experience replacing a ceiling fan. Thanks for sharing.
